How to extend Privacy Protect on your ad

Privacy Protect is an exclusive service offered by bikesales to help you keep your personal number private when selling. If Privacy Protect is included as part of your Ultimate Ad or you choose to purchase it as an add-on, your private number will be hidden on your ad completely and it will be replaced with a virtual phone number.

Any potential buyer that rings the virtual number displayed on your ad will be redirected to the number you’ve provided us with, without the caller ever seeing your private number.

Privacy Protect is included in our Ultimate Ad and can also be purchased for an additional $20 to add on any Standard or Premium Ad. Once it’s added to your ad, you’ll get unlimited use of Privacy Protect for 45 days. You can read the full Privacy Protect Terms & Conditions here.

Below we have outlined the step-by-step process to purchase or extend Privacy Protect on your ad:

To top up your PrivacyProtect balance via desktop

Sign in to your bikesales account
Hover the mouse over your name in the top right corner and select ‘Manage Ads’ from the drop-down menu
Select the ad you’d like to add Privacy Protect to and select the ‘Ad Enhancements’ tab
Click the ‘Learn more’ button on the Privacy Protect tile
You’ll then see a Privacy Protect pop up where you can purchase or extend Privacy Protect on your ad

To top up your PrivacyProtect balance via the bikesales App

Open the bikesales app and select the ‘Account’ tab located in the bottom right corner
Sign in to your account (if you haven’t already)
Tap the ‘Sell’ tab located at the bottom of your screen
Then select ‘Manage my ad’
Within the ad you’d like to manage, select the ‘Enhancements’ tab and tap ‘Learn more’ within the Privacy Protect tile
Check that the contact number listed is where you’d like the Privacy Protect service to redirect buyer calls or update it
Tap the ‘Buy for $20’ button
Choose a payment option, complete the steps and hit ‘Pay and publish ad’
